This collage is very representative of my recent work. It’s whimsical and absurd yet hints at a deeper meaning and gives a sense of an entire dream playing out. The composition is both triangular and circular, with the elements feeding into each other in a way that seems sequential. Turtles repeat throughput but changing form, at one point ordinary (bottom left), then appearing on the young woodsman’s back, then more anthropomorphic and animated (the flying turtle trying to get the girl’s attention) and finally as turtle’s appendages serving as wings for the messengers at the upper right. I won’t go into my title and interpretation (unless you ask) so you can make it your own dream and have your own reaction.
